SUMMARY:Social Impact Measurement Workshop for Early-stage Social Enterprises
DESCRIPTION:Social impact measurement is an important operation for social enterprises. Impact data can be used to improve service provision, access funding and demonstrate credibility to diverse stakeholder groups. Yet, measuring impact clearly and practically remains a persistent challenge for many, especially micro and small social enterprises. Many social enterprises struggle to measure their impact because of limited time or a lack of understanding of which tools to use.\nThis workshop is designed to help early-stage social enterprises navigate social impact jargon, choose measurement tools, and begin the impact measurement process. An early-stage social enterprise is a registered company with less than 3 years of operating service.\nParticipating social enterprises will learn how to define their intended impact, distinguish activities from outcomes and impact and identify measurable indicators that align with their mission. The session will also cover how to gather feedback from service-users ethically and how to identify impact stories at an early stage. Importantly, attendees will leave the workshop with a clear, actionable plan to tell their impact stories.\nKey learning outcomes\n\nUnderstand the core concepts of impact measurement.\nIdentify a practical tool for measuring impact relevant to social, environmental and economic.\nUnderstand sources of impact data and how to collect data ethically.\nLeave with an actionable plan ready to implement in a social enterprise.\n\nWho should attend\nThis session is open to Social Impact Managers, Leaders and Directors who are based in Leicester or Leicestershire.\nThis workshop is being delivered in collaboration with DMU’s School of Leadership, Management and Marketing and will be led by Dr Sally Kah.\n\n    \n\n		\n        \n			        \n     \n
