DESCRIPTION:\nVoluntary Action LeicesterShire have partnered with the Leicester Safeguarding Children’s Partnership to deliver the Understanding Your Role in Safeguarding and Promoting the Welfare of Children training session\nThis course will provide participants with learning that will help them to meet the Core Competencies of the LLR Safeguarding Children Competency Framework. It is a foundation course for those who are in positions where they may spot safeguarding concerns, or someone may tell them that they are being harmed.\nWho is it for: People who work or volunteer with children and young people and may be in a position to spot safeguarding concerns.\nSession Objectives:\n\nUnderstand what is meant by safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and how this impacts on your role.\nUnderstand the legal context of safeguarding\nKnow the different forms of abuse and neglect\nBe aware of some of the signs and indicators that might cause concern\nKnow what makes children and young people more vulnerable to abuse and neglect\nUnderstand the statutory requirements governing consent, confidentiality and information sharing\nUnderstand recording and reporting procedures within the context of your own work\nUnderstand the barriers to sharing concerns\n\nCost: This training session will cost £10 per participant\nThis session will be deliver on Teams. A calendar invite and link will be sent to you when you book onto the training session.\nPlease note that the session will not be recorded and any resources will only be shared with those that attend.\n\n    \n\n		\n        \n			        \n     \n
