Recruiting volunteers through the VAL Volunteering website

During the pandemic, VAL worked to update and refresh its VAL Volunteering website to improve the experience for volunteers and organisations recruiting volunteers.

The original VAL Volunteering site launched in 2017. During the pandemic, VAL’s volunteering team worked with VAL’s Communications team to rebuild the website, improve the design and create a better experience for users.

Organisation Case Study – The Carers Centre

VAL assisted The Carers Centre in promoting their new volunteering roles that had been creating to be adapted to the changing circumstance caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

They started to look at creating virtual events, and there was a need for creative volunteers to get on board and share their ideas, help to plan, run and promote the events and then to get people involved to have a go. They were really excited about all the new events they could create and couldn’t wait to see all the ideas that would come out.

The Carers Centre Volunteer Feedback – Megan

Megan enquired about Volunteering through the VAL Volunteering Website and went on to start volunteering with The Carers Centre for the Virtual Events and Social Media volunteer role they were advertising.

I have been volunteering for around 3 months. My confidence has increased a little as I have been hosting my first virtual event online.
