Volunteering – Susanne’s Story

Read how Susanne found a role through our website working as a Volunteer Receptionist for Menphys.

Susanne enquired about volunteering via the volunteering website and applied for the role of receptionist with the organisation Menphys. Menphys is a charity that offers services and supports children & young people with disabilities in Leicestershire.

They were looking for volunteers to work on the main reception desk at their Community Hub in South Wigston. The role involved greeting visitors, answering and directing calls along with generic administration duties.

Working with Menphys has given her an insight into volunteering and be a part of a friendly working environment. Susanne has been volunteering in this role for three months and is really enjoying it.

Having retired in August I was looking for something that could make use of my skills without being pressured and this fits my needs perfectly. Your website is very useful and I would not hesitate to recommend to others”.
