COVID-19 guidance for people living on a traveller site, in a vehicle or on a canal boat.

On 6 January 2021 Public Health England and the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government updated the guidance titled COVID-19: guidance for those leading a nomadic way of life.

The guidance may be relevant to local VCSE organisations that are supporting the travelling community, canal boat community, and others who are relying on vehicles as a mode of shelter.

The guidance doesn’t provide a lot of practical advice besides explaining  that if those communities lack access to facilities such as water, sanitation and waste disposal to help with self-isolation and social distancing, they should contact their local authority for assistance. Stating that they may be able to provide those communities with additional facilities or make alternative stopping places available. The full guidance can be found here.
