On 18 January 2021 the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt Hancock delivered a speech at the Downing Street coronavirus briefing.

The government’s latest data show that they have now vaccinated more than half of those over 80 as well as half of the elderly care home residents.

He went onto to explain that “Anybody aged over 80 but hasn’t yet had their jab, I want to say we will reach you. The NHS will contact you and you will have your invitation to be vaccinated within the next 4 weeks. “

The speech can be accessed here.

Local VCSE organisations who are supporting local communities may want to read these two documents to help keep their communities informed of the progress with the Vaccination  rollout.
