If you are working with individuals or families who are experiencing hardship in Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland, get in touch with local charity, Charity Link, who may be able to help.
Charity Link offers support by providing essential household goods which improve quality of life (including beds, furniture and cookers), along with clothing, medical and mobility equipment, and in emergencies food vouchers. The charity may also be able to help with small amounts of cash on a weekly basis or grants for utilities for those who have, for one reason or another, slipped through the system.
Each year Charity Link helps over 5,000 vulnerable people and children by working with organisations in the community to ensure that help is given to those in need, when they need it. Where there is a crisis or immediate need, for example in cases of domestic violence or those facing homelessness, Charity Link is able to act quickly.
Full details on accessing the service (including an online application form, full guidelines and a promotional poster for colleagues) can be found by visiting the charity’s website.
You can also call the charity’s friendly Casework team on 0116 222 2200 if you have questions or need advice prior to making a request on behalf of a client.
