Charnwood Forest Landscape Partnership Focus Group – Birstall
Voluntary Action LeicesterShire (VAL) is part of the Charnwood Forest Landscape Partnership Scheme that is currently undertaking some research to find out about people’s understanding of Charnwood Forest and how people use the facilities and engage with groups within this area. Charnwood Forest is an extensive area of north western Leicestershire surrounded by the urban areas of Leicester, Loughborough and Coalville. Popular places with public access include Bardon Hill, Beacon Hill, Bradgate Park, Swithland Wood and the Outwoods and Stoneywell Cottage (National Trust).
VAL is currently supporting this project by carrying out some research that will be used to inform a funding bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund, which (if successful) will allow the Charnwood Forest Landscape Partnership Scheme to carry out a number of projects to develop the area and raise the profile of activities taking place in the Forest. We are interested in hearing about your experiences of using public access spaces, but also any other groups or activities that you are aware of or involved in within the Forest boundaries.
