This session will enable you to identify, respond to and report issues relating to the safety of children and young people in your care.  It will cover the key competences for staff and volunteers described by the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Safeguarding Board.

Why attend?

On completion of the session you will receive a certificate of attendance which can be used as part of your demonstration of competence for your role.

Who is this session suitable for?

This session is suitable for those who have regular contact with children, young people, parents or families and in a position to identify concerns.

What will it cover?

  • Signs and indicators of abuse
  • Factors that indicate a child or young person might be at increased risk
  • Maintaining a child focus within safeguarding
  • Respond to concerns you have

The session will also explain the LLRSB multi-agency process for dealing with concerns that are raised.
