Trustees’ Week Network and Learn Event
Trustees’ Week is a national annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference.
Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They help to make the UK the sixth most giving country in the world.
They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity’s work.
As part of Trustees’ Week, Voluntary Action LeicesterShire is giving the opportunity for trustees of local voluntary community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations to come together and discuss relevant topics.
The charity governance code is endorsed by the charity commission. It represents a standard of good governance practice to which all charities should aspire. The code has seven principles, one being Board Effectiveness.
This interactive session will help you to discuss with other local trustees on how your board works as an effective team, using the appropriate balance of skills, experience, backgrounds and knowledge to make informed decisions.
It will enable you to chat about what is working well locally and what actions you can take away to improve board effectiveness.
Who can attend?
The Network and Learn Session is open to any trustee of a voluntary community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisation that provide services to residents of Leicester city or Leicestershire.
( We use the term trustee – to include committee members of unregistered charities sometimes known as charitable unincorporated associations. Committee members of community amateur sports clubs (CASC). Charity trustees of unincorporated charities, directors of charitable companies, and the trustee board of charitable incorporated organisations (CIO).)
Refreshments from 9.30am session starts promptly at 10am
