VALUES and Mencap Round the World Launch Event
The Mencap Round the World Challenge is a great way for people with learning disabilities to get involved in and try new physical activities. VALUES will be hosting the launch of this year’s challenge at Aylestone Leisure Centre on Wednesday 29 January.
There will be a free sports session for people with learning disabilities run by VALUES, with coaching provided by staff from Leicester City Football Club and Leicester Tigers.
We’re also really excited that Harry Wells, who plays lock and flanker for Leicester Tigers, will be there to support us on the day!
You can drop in at any time during the launch event and try any of the multi sports sessions in a safe and supported environment.
What is the Round the World Challenge?
The Round the World Challenge is run by Mencap in partnership with Sport England and the National Lottery.
Anyone who wants to take part will have the amount of activity they do converted into time, which will tell you how far ‘around the world’ you’ve gone.
You can find out more about the challenge on Mencap’s website.
