Heritage Places is a new initiative designed to support people across Leicester to explore, celebrate and share the heritage that matters most to them. The project focuses on inclusive approaches to storytelling, research, and widening participation so that local heritage reflects the city’s voices and experiences.

Community Heritage Champion Grants
As part of the programme, we will be launching Community Heritage Champion Grants. These small grants will support local organisations to host and mentor Community Heritage Champions—individuals who will take part in training, carry out a community-led heritage research project, and help bring new stories and perspectives into the wider heritage sector.

Grants will be launched early 2026.
