Workshop for VCSE groups who support families to learn how to apply a trauma-informed approach when dealing with challenging behaviour.

VAL have partnered with Trauma Informed Parenting to deliver a workshop that explores the foundations of trauma-informed parenting, why children’s behaviour is a communication of their needs, and how simple, practical strategies can create more connection and safety at home or in professional settings.

Participants leave with a clearer understanding of what’s happening beneath the surface for children, along with tools they can start using straiFor Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) staff and volunteers, the session is packed with skills you can immediately transfer into your work with families. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what trauma-informed support looks like in practice, how to communicate with parents in a way that reduces shame and builds trust, and how to offer guidance that strengthens family relationships rather than adding pressure. It’s all about giving you tools that make your support more effective, empathetic, and sustainable.
