Leicestershire County Council: A guide to reducing loneliness in Leicestershire

Many people across all sections of society experience loneliness or isolation at various times in their lives

Loneliness can affect anyone, regardless of the area you live in, your age, your background or your personal circumstances. The government has recognised that loneliness is a challenge experienced all over the country, which is why a national Loneliness Strategy was published in 2018. The national strategy can be found here.

As part of the local council’s ongoing work around Tackling Loneliness, Leicestershire County Council has developed a Loneliness Toolkit document.

This 8-page guide provides lots of useful information to help people reduce feelings of loneliness.

It also has information about local sources of support, as well as how to get involved in community groups, projects and activities.

The loneliness toolkit can be accessed here. A 2 page summary has also been created.

If you would like to request paper copies of the Toolkit document or the 2-page summary, please contact Noel Singh.

Noel can be contacted by email on  noel.singh@leics.gov.uk or by telephone on (0116) 3057020.
