Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government: Closing certain businesses and venues in Leicester

On 3 July the government published guidance on closing certain businesses and venues in Leicester. This document supports the government’s guidance on COVID-19. It provides the list of businesses and premises expected to close in Leicester from 4 July 2020. We recommend all VCSE organisations read this.

Where increased local transmission of COVID-19 is identified, areas may be required to take additional measures to reduce the spread of the virus.

From Saturday 4 July 2020, certain businesses and venues in Leicester will be required to close following an increase in the spread of COVID-19.

All businesses and venues outlined in the table with postcodes that fall within the area outlined in section 1 below must not open to the public.

Failure to follow the law relating to these closures can lead to the individual responsible for the business being issued with a prohibition notice, a fixed penalty notice or being prosecuted.

Employers who have people in their offices or onsite are advised to ensure that employees are able to follow the government’s guidelines on working safely.
