Whether volunteers eligible for vaccines

On 4 February the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport included a new section on volunteers eligible for vaccines.

Previously we reported on the government’s guidance on volunteering during the pandemic titled Enabling safe and effective volunteering during coronavirus (COVID-19). The article can be accessed here.

The guidance was updated by Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport on 4 February 2021, to include a new section on volunteers eligible for vaccines.

Within that section, the government explains vaccines are currently available to a number of eligible groups, including frontline health and social care workers.

Volunteers who qualify by virtue of age or clinical condition will be prioritised along with their local population.

Only a very few volunteers working in front line risk settings will be eligible for early vaccination. The NHS will be in touch with people to arrange vaccination appointments when they are eligible.

The list of priority/ eligible groups for vaccination can be found here.

The Enabling safe and effective volunteering during coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance also includes a new section on political campaigning.

The revised guidance can be accessed here.
