Case Study – The Pathways Centre

The Pathways Centre, Hinckley Baptist Church

The Pathways Centre is the thriving community hub of Hinckley Baptist Church.

The Pathways Centre opened in 2008 after a major refurbishment to bring the old and rarely used school rooms of Hinckley Baptist Church up to date. Since then they have spent time listening and journeying alongside individuals and community organisations, serving the people of Hinckley. By joining and partnering together with these organisations, along with the groups that they run, they can share resources, knowledge and talents to grow projects that meet the community’s needs.

Ruth Wright says:

VAL have supported us by:

‘We have had quite a few enquiries through VAL regarding volunteering. It’s been great and probably the best way of recruiting that we’ve had.

The volunteers have joined our community café and our respite group and have all been committed and a great asset to the teams.

Previously they had advertised with us and had received no responses. With our revamp of the volunteering site last year we asked them to upload and register again.

I was asked to upload and register again, which I did. Now I get a couple of enquiries a month which is brilliant. So thank you for whatever you’ve done differently…. it’s working! 🙂
