Website accessibility

We want to make sure everyone is able to access Voluntary Action LeicesterShire’s information and can communicate with us in a way that works for them.

Plain language

We try to use plain English on the site so that it can be easily understood.

Text size

The site is designed to support resizing text in your browser.

Magnify the screen

If increasing the text size in your browser isn’t enough to help you access the site, you can magnify your screen on many computers.

Windows

Visit the Microsoft website for guidance on how to magnify your screen.

Mac OS X

To set zoom options, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, then click Zoom.

Colour

We don’t use colour to communicate vital information on the site.

Images

We provide text alternatives to explain what images are about. Screen readers can read this and they are visible when a mouse hovers over an image.

Navigating our site without a mouse

    • You can use the ‘arrow’ keys to scroll up and down a page.
    • You can use the space bar to move down and ‘shift’ and ‘space bar’ to move up pages.
    • You can use the ‘tab’ key to move from one link to the next, in sequence, then press the ‘return/enter’ key to select the link.
    • You can use the ‘backspace’ key to go back to the previous page.
