Mathangi enquired about volunteering through the VAL Volunteering Website in August 2020 and went on to start a volunteering role as a Volunteer Retail Assistant with the organisation, Just Fairtrade.
Just Fair trade are a social enterprise selling ethical and eco products that help people in the world’s poorest countries, to work their way out of poverty. Volunteers are involved in all aspects of shop life and are crucial to its smooth running – they’re the life-blood of Just Fair Trade!
Working with Just Fair Trade gave her the opportunity to become part of a dynamic and friendly volunteering team, whilst gaining experience and transferable skills developed in a vibrant and busy working environment.
She has now been volunteering with them for three months and is really enjoying it.
Mathangi reports:
