Leicester City Council is the lead authority for this fund in Leicester. Organisations can now bid for a share of the government’s £220m UK Community Renewal Fund to support innovative pilot projects that boost the economy.
The fund aims to support the people and communities in greatest need to help pilot programmes in preparation for the introduction of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in 2022.
Bids should seek a minimum of £250,000 funding, with a preferred bid size of £500,000 plus. All successful projects must be complete, and funding spent before the end of March 2022.
The fund has four themes, with a range of types of projects sought. In all cases, the government is looking for innovative ways of tackling challenges . The four themes are:
- Investment in skills
- Investment for local businesses
- Investment in communities and place
- Supporting people into employment
Your application will need to be submitted to the lead authority. You cannot bid directly. The lead authority will appraise all the bids received, before the deadline, and identify a shortlist that will be submitted to the UK government.
