Practical Bid Writing

This session will give you the opportunity to explore the bid writing process in more detail, considering some of the practical steps when writing funding bids, what are the components to include and reviewing your application before submitting.

The session includes activities to assess funding bids and working on ideas to apply for funding through a specific fund, based on real small grant criteria.

Who is this session aimed at?

This sessions is designed for anyone with responsibility for pulling together funding bids and applications for VCSE organisations. The session would be particularly useful for those new to writing funding bids and those looking to further develop their skills.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session, learners should be able to:

  • Identify the key points to include in a funding bid
  • Understand how to identify funding criteria, aims and objectives
  • Explain how project ideas can be presented to meet funder aims and objectives
  • Assess what make a ‘good’ funding application
  • Discuss how funding bids can be improved to make them more effective

This is a face to face training session and will be held at Glenfield Parish Council.

Please note, this training is free of charge to groups within Leicestershire who have County beneficiaries. Groups with solely City beneficiaries, or from outside Leicester are still welcome to attend, but a charge of £30.00 per attendee will apply.
