A free online event exploring gambling, the harms caused and an overview of the NHS East Midlands Gambling Harms Service.

Come and join us for this free online event for voluntary & community sector organisations in Leicestershire on gambling, the harms caused, and an overview of the NHS East Midlands Gambling Harms Service.

VAL is hosting this event in collaboration with Leicestershire County Council Public Health.

Harmful gambling has a broad impact, and it is estimated that between 10,500 to 17,600 Leicestershire residents are affected by someone else’s gambling. It is also estimated that over 9,500 children live in the same household as an adult who might benefit from gambling treatment and support.

You will hear from Leicestershire County Council Public Health about the work they have been doing on Gambling Related Harms, as well as input from the NHS East Midlands Gambling Service who provide specialist therapies, treatment and recovery to those affected by gambling addiction and gambling problems.

The 1 ½ hour event will take you through topics including:

  • What is gambling & gambling related harm
  • Causes & effects
  • What is the picture in Leicestershire?
  • Find out about support and resources available to help those affected by gambling related harms

We are also interested to hear from VCSOs to understand your experiences and what role the sector can play going forward.

Don’t miss out on this valuable opportunity to learn more about Gambling Related Harms and how you can support your beneficiaries.

Please note: This event is for VCSOs with Leicestershire beneficiaries
