I have been part of Voluntary Action Leicestershire as a trustee for more than 8 years. This has been an excellent opportunity for me to support and shape VAL that aligns with my personal values and community goals – to make difference in the community and helping people to change their life for the better.

Severn Trent have launched this scheme to give the communities a helping hand on existing or new schemes/projects, through funding and hands-on volunteering. They are looking to work with local projects that aim to improve the quality of life in our communities.

Voluntary Action LeicesterShire (VAL) is a delivery partner within the Leicestershire County Council Multiply Programme, which is a specific project to help local residents to improve and develop their numeracy skills. As part of VAL’s Multiply Project, we have been exploring some of the key issues that are impacting people’s lives around numbers and numeracy in Leicestershire . 

The Employment Hub County is part of Leicester Employment Hub, offering support to local employers and people in North West Leicestershire and Hinckley & Bosworth.
