Temporary changes to the CAMHS professional advisory service

From Monday 1 March 2021 the CAMHS professional advisory service (PAS) telephone number will be operating temporarily reduced hours.

The service will now be open from 12-2pm, Monday – Friday and the service can be contacted on 0116 295 5048.

The PAS line is used by GPs and other healthcare professionals for advice when considering a mental health referral for a child and young person. It will be reduced for six months in response to the increase in demand on CAMHS as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Details of the CAMHS can be accessed here.

Healthwatch Leicester and Healthwatch Leicestershire (HWLL) are the independent local champion for health and social care services in Leicester and Leicestershire. Part of their role is to understand the experiences of people who are using these services and to give people an opportunity to speak up and have their voices heard.

They are presently consulting on what patient’s think of local urgent mental health services.

They state that they know through patient feedback that patients find it difficult to know where to go for mental health support.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic impact on Mental Health, they want to find out what is the patient experience of using urgent mental health services.

The survey closes on 14 March 2021 and can be accessed here.
