Severn Trent Community Fund
Our customers, and the communities we live and work in, are at the heart of everything we do. And that’s why, from 2020, we’re going to be giving away more than £10million over the next five years to support new projects by local charities and community groups in the Severn Trent region – helping to make a real and tangible difference in our communities.
Our customers have helped us to create and shape our new community fund. We’ve spoken to lots of you to better understand your community needs, and as a result, have chosen to design our fund around improving community wellbeing.
Funding is available from £2,000 up to £200,000 We seek to fund projects that link to these key elements of community wellbeing and If you’re applying for over £75,000, please note that a combination of all three of these themes is necessary to be eligible.
Do you have a project you need funding for? Why not come along and find out about this amazing fund.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund
Awarding money raised by the National Lottery, we are the largest funder of heritage in the UK. By heritage, we mean anything from the past that we value, and wish to pass on to future generations.
Our grant programmes fall into three funding bands: £3,000 to £10,000 and £10,000 to £250,000 which have a single-stage application process and are assessed in 8 weeks. Grants of £250,000 to £10,000,000 have a two round application process; each round is separate and is assessed in 3 months. There are quarterly application deadlines for these larger grants.
We expect all applications to meet this outcome:-
- A wider range of people will be involved in heritage
Applications may also meet one or more of these outcomes:-
- The funded organisation will be more resilient
- People will have greater wellbeing
- People will have developed skills
- The local area will be a better place to live, work or visit
- The local economy will be boosted
- Heritage will be in better condition
- Heritage will be identified and better explained
- People will have learned about heritage, leading to change in ideas and actions

EasyFundraising
Through the free easyfundraising platform, thousands of online retailers including Sainsbury’s, eBay, Tesco, M&S, Asda, Argos, Just Eat, Morrisons, Trainline and booking.com will all donate money to your organisation when your community of supporters shop with them.
Whenever an online shopper buys something online, the retailer will send your organisation either a flat monetary amount or a percentage of what the online shopper spends, without it costing the shopper anything extra. 89% of people in the UK have bought something online in the past year so this is a simple way for your supporter network to raise money for you just by doing their shopping.
All types of organisations can receive this unrestricted funding – your organisation just needs to be registered with funding website easyfundraising.
