Reading coach volunteer

Here is Paula’s story of her experience in volunteering as a Reading coach volunteer with Read Easy.

Paula applied to become a Reading Coach with Read Easy, a group of volunteers that support local adults who want to learn to read or improve their reading skills, at their own pace and without pressure.

The group provides trained Volunteer Reading Coaches to work on a confidential one to one basis to help adults learn to read. They have over 1,400 volunteers across the country. Read Easy groups deliver high-quality coaching services to local adults who want to improve their reading skills. That’s not all – learning to read is just the start. Our volunteers give someone a skill that allows them to fulfil their goals and live everyday life more easily. It’s life-changing and you can be part of this!

Paula commented:

“The organisation got in touch with me very quickly after my enquiry unfortunately I had to postpone the process due to illness in the family. However I have since been in touch and completed the application process and have been interviewed and had references taken up. I have been booked onto two initial training courses and hopefully should be starting volunteering in my new role soon. Really looking forward to it.”
