Being a trustee is a rewarding role, but understanding your responsibilities can sometimes feel daunting. This practical online training session will help trustees and prospective trustees understand what the role involves, the responsibilities they take on, and how they can contribute effectively to their organisation’s governance. The session will explore:

  • The legal duties and responsibilities of trustees
  • The role of the trustee board and individual trustees
  • Governance, accountability and decision-making
  • The relationship between trustees, staff and volunteers
  • Managing conflicts of interest and acting in the best interests of the organisation
  • What effective trustee boards look like
  • Common challenges and how trustees can respond

Whether you are a new trustee, considering becoming a trustee, or an experienced trustee looking to refresh your knowledge, this session will provide useful guidance, practical information and an opportunity to ask questions.
