VALUES Student Placement

At VAL, we are committed to supporting the development of future professionals by providing meaningful work placement opportunities for students. Our VALUES project for adults with learning disabilities had the opportunity to carry out a placement for a student.

It is always rewarding to receive positive feedback and to see the impact of our collaborative work with educational settings and professionals. We are particularly pleased with the progress made by the students during their placements and are committed to continuing to support the development of future Health and Social Care professionals.

Through hands-on experience, students can build their confidence, develop practical skills, and gain valuable insight into working within the Health and Social Care sector. We work closely with local educational providers to ensure placements are both rewarding and beneficial for students and the people we support. At the end of our students’ placement hours, we ask for feedback on their experience with us.

Linda, a Work Experience Coordinator at Leicester College, sent the following message after receiving our feedback on the students' placements:

Thank you so much for the feedback for Alex, Becky and Camille. It was so pleasing (and I must admit I did get a bit emotional) for me to hear how they have progressed, developed and supported your clients during their time on placement at VAL.

Leicester College really appreciates working with VAL as one of our employer partners who consistently offer placement opportunities to a number of our T-Level students. So, from myself and the rest of the T-Level team here, we'd like to say a huge thank you!

As a result of the success of this placement, we plan to offer one of the students a Sessional Support Worker role, providing an opportunity to further develop their skills and gain valuable experience within the Health and Social Care sector.
